Your HL Essay introduction has one job: convince the reader in a handful of sentences that you know exactly what you're arguing and exactly how you're going to argue it. Criterion C (Organisation) rewards essays that are 'coherent' and 'well organised' from the very first paragraph — examiners should be able to sketch your essay's skeleton just from reading the intro.
